The Taste of 1970s Saigon

At Ghien Banh Mi, we are bringing the authentic street café culture of 1970s and 80s Vietnam right to San Francisco’s Inner Richmond. Founded by Tuan Luu and his wife, their shop is a nostalgic tribute to a slower, more intentional era.

We believe in the art of the traditional slow-drip. We use old-school phin filters to let robust coffee steep patiently over sweet condensed milk—exactly the way it was done decades ago. Paired with our freshly crafted, crusty banh mi, every order is a step back in time. Embrace the wait, and taste the heritage.
